Rock Fortune Telling
My rocks were found originally near the side of a construction site. They were laying in a nice pile that suggested their future use in covering a path of somekind. Little did I know of the importance of these rocks when I hand-picked twenty of them at random from the pile and placed them into my pocket.
After pondering for hours and taking the time to carefully examine the finer details of each and every rock, I was able to arrive with a name for the essence of each rock. Given more time I believe that my naming would have been more exact, but given the time constraints it was the best job I could have done.
The rocks were named as follows:
- Silver
- Cleft
- Surf
- Regal
- Spike
- Helmet
- Continental
- Mound
- Candy
- Arrow
- Diamond
- Jaguar
- Skull
- Crown
- Boulder
- Truth
- Decrepid
- Loyalty
- Fear
- Carseat
To inaugurate their naming it was time to have the first reading that these rocks have ever done. Vivian was called over to allow the rocks to fall into place onto the table from her hands. A map was created of the positions that they landed in, and relationships were drawn between the positions of the rocks.

After careful examination of the placement of the rocks and thinking very hard about the names given to each of the rocks, I was able to come up with a reading for Vivian. It follows:
"I think that you are going to be involved in or have been involved in an accident that will leave you scarred for a long time. It's possible that you will injure someone else physically, and this knowledge will affect you greatly for a long time to come. I think it will drive you closer to your family and you will be scared of it for a long time, however, in the end you will come to terms with the event and be stronger in the end. How long that will take I do not know."
Vivian told me that this reading did in fact hold a lot of meaning for her. Although she told me that it was not for a future event, but for an event that had already happened.
After this point it was time to bid the rocks farewell in an irrational way. I felt it was important that these rocks leave in a way that would fit the bag that I originally placed them in. It was a small bright red metallic gift bag, which only days before I had received something in. Therefore I felt it would be fitting to give the rocks away in such a manner. A good friend of mine was having his twenty-first birthday in just several days, so this was a fitting event for it. As with most twenty-first birthdays there was a lot of drinking involved and my friend found himself a bit too intoxicated at the end of the evening to stay away for the final minutes of the party. It was this time that I went ahead and gave him his gift without explanation. (Not that he would have remembered it even if he had been given explanation in the first place.)

No explanation. No knowledge of the rocks of any kind. No doubt he woke up the next morning to find himself very tired, and delighted to find a small present placed upon him in the night. But, a bag of rocks?
